Yeah! I managed to get this week photo's up while it was still this week! It's nice to be back on track :)

4/22- No photo...

4/23- Ben was so cute this day, I have two shots and I'm tired of trying to pick just one, so I'm sharing both...  He still loves to get a good snuggle first thing in the morning.

And you can nearly see the twinkle in his eye... Hannah was thrilled to learn how to blow a bubble with her gum and he was aiming to burst it!

4/24- I think I'm going to have to buy it.
On Monday I picked up Forgotten Skills of Cooking and it didn't take long to mark all those pages! A dear friend directed me to this title and I can't wait to add some new recipes to my menu next week.

4/25- Speaking of new recipes... we tried fried parsnips instead of potatoes with some burgers this week and they were a bit hit. Mild & sweet! They were crispy just like potatoes at first, but as they cooled lost some of that texture. I simply diced them, tossed them with a bit of cornstarch to give the exterior a crisp, and fried them in olive oil, then seasoned them with salt. Very good!

4/26- The old man tilled up the patch for the wheat field and managed to get it planted. Hopefully this year will finally be a success! Meanwhile, I watered the herb & vegetable gardens (so much for April showers!). We also prepped the asparagus bed for a new planting of seedlings I started this year. I tried a tip I read about where you trick the seedlings into going dormant as though they survived their first winter, so they're "two years old" already, maybe. We are really looking forward to enjoying homegrown asparagus next year so I hope it worked!

4/27- No photo today either. I was grumpy this week and I have a hard time motivating myself to pick up the camera when I'm out of spirits.

4/28- Maybelle & Gus escaped from the sacrifice pasture and were able to steal a snack of fresh green grass.

Hope your week was a lovely one and that the next will be even better!
Have a blessed Sabbath!
